Could 2 billion people exist with the technology of 1858? No, but 50 years later in 1908 the ammonia synthesis developed by Fritz Haber was brought to industrial production by Carl Bosch. Haber was celebrated as the man who turns air into bread.
Already in 1992, I wrote about the 10 billion question in the book “Advance to the Solar Age”. At that time, the question was whether a technology was suitable for the whole of humanity. Today, on the contrary, it is about showing that Guide Stones, Degrowth, Great Reset is inhuman nonsense, because even far more than 10 billion people are permanently possible with a high standard of living.
