The Green parliamentary group in the German Bundestag is hosting the online conference “Rethinking Cities” on March 19, 2021. We are participating in the virtual exhibition: new building standard KlimaSchutzÜberlegenheitsHaus.

I myself was in the “city building turnaround” workshop. This was limited to how great a lot of CO2 is saved with wooden construction. From “cities rethink” far and wide no trace. In the chat there were statements like “Why heat so much, you can put on one more sweater” or “Low Tech is better”. People also got excited about the fact that more air conditioners are being used because of climate change. So much like the motto “freezing and sweating instead of technology”.
Of course, I also have something against primitive air conditioners. These are unhealthy and produce a bad indoor climate. That is why the “GEMINI next Generation” house is also cooled gently via the wall surfaces. Much healthier, better indoor climate and much more efficient.
I experienced ultra-conservative views that have absolutely nothing to do with the requirements of a real energy transition and effective climate protection.
What can be done about it? To take up ever larger proofs: The company foundation “GEMINI Solarhaus”, the model settlement in Unken, the sale of houses, the opening of new branches. Or when did people start to believe Elon Musk?

The batteries have arrived
|
Ordered in mid-December, arrived March 19. Low cost to store electricity is a critical factor for a true energy transition. 42 kWh batteries are to become the minimum equipment of a "GEMINI next generation" house. This will enable on-demand grid feeding and electric car charging at night with own solar power.

Smash up stupid sayings and views
|
There are stupid sayings of supposedly serious professors like: “Without electricity storage the energy transition is technically impossible, with electricity storage the energy transition is economically impossible”.
These battery cells will be the sledgehammer to smash such stupid sayings and views.
The difference between energy production and energy consumption should be as high as possible. This must replace the old idea “We must save energy, whatever the cost”. The passive house is the perfect expression of the old philosophy “We must save energy, no matter what it costs”. The Passive House described in 3 words: “Freezing for the rich”.

Worldwide wealth needed for planetary repair

All the scenarios where it is sufficient to reduce emissions to zero are becoming increasingly implausible.
Thawing permafrost soils and outgassing methane hydrate represent an enormous potential danger for climate development. A little reduction will not be enough. Even 100% less CO2 emission could still be too little. 200% less, i.e. no further human CO2 emission plus active reduction by filtering and splitting, should be enough. But this filtering of CO2 from the atmosphere and splitting it into C and O is an enormous effort that only a wealthy humanity with an industrial base completely based on renewable energy can manage. Therefore, saving, restricting, renouncing, is life-threatening for mankind.
Promoting the GEMINI next Generation project is a new task for the Organisation for the Promotion of Infintism. A company will be founded later. The association can and will participate in the company. Supporting members of the association will have privileges in the foundation of the company. This will be formulated in the next weeks, but support in this difficult initial phase should pay off in any case.

Year of the turning point for a civilization

My New Year's resolution to finally turn this civilization around. If the first model settlement in Unken is completed by the end of the year, it will be a turning point.
