  Short Summary


The K2 Solar is a power bank for notebooks and USB devices with the possibility to connect a photovoltaic system. The device has great reserves, which go beyond the supply of one notebook.

  New solar system for laptops


Since 1995 I use solar power for notebooks. More and more economical laptops and 185 Wh battery in the new K2 Solar represent a completely new dimension.

Here to the test report.

Over the years, I accumulated 70 watts of photovoltaics have. A 20 Watt module of 1998, a 30W foldable photovoltaic from 2005 and another 20W module, which I received in 2016 at Intersolar fair as a gift.

These 70 watt peak photovoltaic together with the K2 Solar in a sunny developing country could supply electricity for light, education and communication for a whole family. My whole family has now thrifty 13" laptops with 6 watts of TDP CPUs. K2 Solar could supply these 4 laptops at the same time, in a sunny developing country would be 8000 operating hours of such economical laptops, 3000 times smartphone charge and 2000 hours with 10 Watt LED illumination possible. Light, education and communication for a whole family.

Notebooks are becoming ever more economical. Smartphones are increasingly used. Therefore, a new division for solar power systems without a power grid:
  • Light, education and communication
  • Storage of food - the refrigerator
  • Preparation of food and electric mobility on 2 wheels.
  • Air conditioning and electric car
In this division, the K2-Solar is a high-end system for light, education and communication, which means LED lamps, smartphones and notebooks. The last year tested PowerOak PS5 would be a low-end system, where you can also operate a refrigerator. The power requirement of a family for the refrigerator is about twice to three times as high as for light, education and communication.

These are the building blocks with which the standard of living can be established in sunny developing countries. At current prices, the following costs for a family without a electric power grid:
  • Light, education and communication 300 EUR
  • Food storage 1,000 EUR
  • Preparation of food and electric mobility on 2 wheels 3,000 EUR.
  • Air conditioning and electric cars 10,000 EUR
These are all manageable magnitudes, everything should be achievable in the next 30 years. In poor areas where today's firewood collect is a huge environmental problem, then should be comfortable air-conditioned houses with the electric car outside the door.

  Tilting profitability and realities


Chemical film or digital camera, internal combustion engine or electric mobility? Landline or cellphone? These are tipping profitability that we have already experienced or are experiencing. In a time of extremely rapid development, there can be little more important for politics than looking for tipping profitability.

Many decades ago, under completely different parameters, the ideal became of the workers closure compartment, the public transport to the factory, densely populated cities with short distances. This was a time when there was cinema or television, many decades before television or video from the Internet.

  City or country?


Of course, shopping in a city of millions is better than in a thousand inhabitants. Just in the last few years, I had to conclude that shopping in a million city is abundantly frustrating compared to the approximately 3 million shops on AliExpress. For the delivery times of AliExpress, there is hardly any difference, whether I live in a 10 million city or somewhere in the country.

It is also a cost issue. What is the cost of the unemployed welfare recipients in a rented apartment in a high-price city compared to the unemployed welfare recipients in the paid plus energy house with a garden big enough to grow half of the food itself? 10 million people with 800 or 300 EUR per month to provide are 60 billion a year.

Over the next 30 years, a tripling of the global economy with a simultaneous reduction of fossil energy down to almost zero.

Even if the current price development reduces the costs of reducing CO2 in the atmosphere, 12,000 billion a year are not affordable for today's humanity. However, it is affordable in the case of a threefold increase in the global economy and further cost reduction. Why should it be affordable? Thawing Permafrost floors and outgassing methane hydrate are an enormous threat potential for climate development. A little reduction could be too little. Even 100% less CO2 emissions could still be too little. 200% less, ie no further human CO2 emission plus active reduction by filtering and splitting, should be sufficient.

For this, the economic conditions must be created. That this can only work with the creation of worldwide wealth is nevertheless a nice side effect.

  Religion in the sense of relegere


Latin relegere: to consider carefully, to contemplate, to think about repeatedly, to be thoughtful in view of an important issue.

This should be the first duty of beings "created in the image of God". In the natural sciences, this happens all the time, before their achievements can have only the greatest respect. The opposite must be said about the politics.

The Infinitism certainly describes the best possible for all currently living humans, nature and future generations to an unimaginably distant future. This spread will require much time and labor.
