1000 Watt per square meter

The surface temperature has to be 25 degree Celsius in this photovoltaic test. This test simulates full sunshine on the surface of planet earth.

About most Photovoltaic cells exists only one value:
how many percent from this 1000 W / m² are converted into electrical power.

There is no standard test for a cloudy sky or a blue sky. This is a terrible gap in knowledge.

For example lets have two car engines. Both car engines deliver 100 kW at 4000 rpm.
One delivers 90 kW at 2000 rpm and the other only 30 kW at 2000 rpm.
If You know only the performance at 4000 rpm, You can decide for the very bad second engine.

If You know only the Photovoltaic performance at 1000 W / m²,
it is possible that You purchase a Photovoltaic with a very bad performance at a cloudy sky.

The CdTe Photovoltaic test shows the performance in the shadow or at a cloudy sky from 3 different cells.
