Some new technical development like the CdTe Photovoltaic and vacuum insulation will change the design, but not the planing targets.
This was our first design study about a new concept for cities in the future from 1994.

The picture shows a 10000m² part of a city at 48 degree North.

  • 20 GEMINI houses with 2300m² rooms and 4800m² private green area.
  • 2000m² Photovoltaic turning after the sun.
  • Below the GEMINI houses 1800m² for shops.
  • Behind the shops and below the GEMINI houses 1500m² traffic area for walkers and bicycles.
  • Below the shops 1800m² for depots.
  • Behind the depots and below the first traffic area 2500m² traffic area and parking places for cars.
  • Behind everything else 3600m² public green area.

The planing targets are: high population density, living amidst nature, much solar energy, much green areas, traffic in two layers to strictly disconnect walkers and bicycles from car traffic. Enough place for cars. The light from the sun should hit a Photovoltaic or a plant. Everything else is a waste.
